Who We Are
SHILOH BAPTIST CHURCH was organized on April 23, 1944 under the leadership of
Rev. Clarence Canty Senior. The first meeting place was a storefront building on Nostrand Avenue.
This was the begining of Rev. Canty's dream to build a church to the glory of God
and for Christian service to his members and the community.
Mission Statement
In accordance to the Great Commission set forth by God in (Matthew 28:19-20) Our mission is to present the Gospel of Jesus Christ in such a way that turns non-christians(Imperfect people) into converts, converts into disciples, and disciples into mature, fruitful leaders, who will in turn go into the world and reach others for Christ.

I am a frequent vistor at Shiloh. The Spirit is always there. The congregation is free to worship. The music, is always on point! The preaching is always what I need to hear. There is a special kind of love sown towards me by the friendly members, my extended family. You feel the love from the pulpit to the door!
I enjoy the entire service. The worship is awesome and the word is always presented with understanding and the spirit of God. I also appreciate easy accessibility.
Shiloh is my forever family. I love everyone there. It is truly "A House Filled with Love". Whenever I attend, I am greeted as if I am still a member. Forever in my heart.
My experience with Shiloh Baptist Church has been amazing. I have met amazing friends in Shiloh that has given me so much meat. They're still family to me, I still tune into service live. It's always a blessing to fellowship with Shiloh. I was once a member and still consider myself as so, i've had the honor to sing in the choir and be on the missionary team. Every experience is always amazing. Much Love to Rev. Moore and First Lady. The family is awesome..
Thanks for always being a consistent house filled with love for my family and I. We love you dearly.
What We Believe
GOD
There is one God. He is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. We believe God exists eternally in three persons: Father, Son and the Holy Spirt.
Genesis 1:1, 26, 27:3-22 | 2 Corinthians 13:14 | Peter 1:2 | Matthew 28:19 | Psalm 90:2
Jesus Christ
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ as both God and man (The Son of God) is the only One who can reconcile us to God. He lived a sinless and exemplary life. He was crucified for our sins and through the sheding of his blood completed the work or redemption. He rose from the dead on the third day to prove His victory and empower us for life. He then ascended to His Father’s side where He is head of the church and intercedes for believers.
Matthew 1:22-23 | Romans 1:3-4 | Hebrews 4:14-15 | Isaiah 9:6 | Acts 1:9-11 | John 1:1-5, 14:10-30
The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit is the promise of the Father. The comforter who indwells, guides, instructs, empowers and convicts men of sin. He places the holy spirit in every believer in the Body of Christ, and bestows spiritual gifts upon the church.
2 Corinthians 3:17 | Acts 1:8 | Ephesians 1:13, 5:18 | John 16:7-13, 14:16-27 | 1 Corinthians 2:12, 3:16 | Galatians 5:25
Salvation
We believe man is saved by grace alone, through the personal faith in Jesus Christ. Salvation is a gift from God, not as a result of our good works. It means turning away from our sin and turning toward Christ. When we place our faith in Jesus Christ, His perfect obedience is credited to us so that God sees us as the righteouness of Christ.
Romans 5:1, 6:23 | Titus 3:5 | John 14:6, 1:12 | Galatians 3:26 | Ephesians 2:8-9
The Church
The church is the Body of Christ, the habitation of God through the Spirit, with divine appointments for the fulfillment of Jesus great commmission. Every person who is boran of the Spirit is an integral part of the church as a member of the body of believers. There is a spiritual unity of all believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
Ephesians 1:22, 2:19-22 | Hebrews 12:23 |
John 17:11, 2-230
Baptism
Baptism by immersion soon after accepting Christ as your personal Savior, is a testimony (new covenant promise) of death to sin and resurrection to a new life. It illustrates the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Matthew 3:13-17, 28:19-20 | Mark 16:16 | Romans 6:3-5 | Acts 2:38, 22:16 | 1 Peter 3:21 | Galatians 3:26-29 | Ephesians 2:8-10, 4:4-6
Communion
The Lord's Supper is a unique time for the body of Christ to remember his ultimate sacrifice. We gather together to partake in elements of bread and grape juice, which represents the Body and Blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. These are taken in rembrance of Jesus sacrifice on the cross. All true believers and only believers should partake of it.
1 Corinthians 11:23-32 | Matthew 26:26-30 | Luke 22:14-20 | Isaiah 53:3-6
The Final Judgement
After living one life on earth, the unbelievers will be judged by God and sent to Hell where they will be eternally tormented with the Devil and the Fallen Angels.
Matthew 25:41 | Mark 9:43-48 | Hebrews 9:27 Revelation 14:9-1, 20:12-15, 21:8)
